Elon's women's basketball team made all the hustle plays at McKenzie Arena this afternoon and beat the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga 74-61.
The Lady Mocs (7-8, 4-3 Southern Conference) were looking for their fifth win in a row and a sweep of their four-game home stand. Instead, Elon (9-5, 4-2) out-rebounded UTC 48-26 and out-scored the Lady Mocs 38-24 in the paint.
Whitney Hood led all scorers with 21 points and Bailey Dewart added 10 points for the Lady Mocs.
UTC averages more than 1,900 fans a game, by far the most in the SoCon, but because of the heavy snowfall in the Chattanooga area today's actual attendance was around 150. The paid attendance was announced at 1,279.
