Red Bank fraud scheme yields 178 warrants

A two-month investigation yielded 178 criminal warrants against 89 people involved in defrauding a Red Bank check-cashing business, Red Bank Police Chief Tim Christol said.

"Now we're developing plans to try and round up all these people," Christol said Thursday. "That will start immediately."

Each individual will be charged with forgery and theft associated with 89 different incidents totaling more than $17,000, Christol said.

Christol declined to release the name of the store and the names on the warrants.
