Chattanooga: Woman sought for running down pedestrian

Police were called to 740 West 12th Street on Thursday afternoon and found Lawanda Franklin, 22, lying unresponsive on a grassy area near a curb, said police spokeswoman Rebecca Royval.

Witnesses told investigators that Franklin was arguing with Laquila Lloyd. Witnesses said Lloyd got into a maroon SUV driven by Jaqueline Jones, 24.

Jones then deliberately drove over a curb, struck Franklin and drove away.

Franklin is in fair condition, Royval said.

Warrants have been obtained for Jacqueline Jones on charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault. Royval said no charges have been filed against Lloyd.
