New Cleveland airport work progressing

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Weather has somewhat delayed site work on phase two of the new Cleveland municipal airport, but other elements of the project are moving forward, officials said this morning.

The first phase of site work is done, said PDC's Ron Fitzgerald. Of 2.2 million tons of dirt to be moved in the second phase, about 500,000 have been moved, he said.

"If the weather had cooperated, we would have been farther along,'' Fitzgerald said.
