UT Extension program eliminating 60 positions

The University of Tennessee Extension office announced a new staffing plan today to help the statewide agency deal with $5.4 million in budget reductions since 2008.

Under the new plan, 48 county agents and area specialist positions and 12 state specialist positions will be eliminated, according to a UT release.

Lorna Norwood, a spokesperson for UT Extension, said no Tennessee counties will lose extension services.
