The death of a 37-year-old inmate in Hamilton County Jail was from natural causes, according to a Hamilton County medical examiner's report.

Gihon Moesia Hardaway, of Chattanooga, was arrested July 14 on charges of improper display of plates, driving on a revoked, suspended or canceled license, resisting arrest and violating his probation stemming from a narcotics charge.

On July 16, Hardaway was in a holding cell with eight other people when he began having what appeared to be seizures, according to the report. He died from pulmonary embolism when a blood clot in his left leg broke free and traveled to his lungs, according to the report.

He was taken to Erlanger hospital where he was pronounced dead.
