Red Bank firefighters are working to contain a fire at Red Bank United Methodist Church on Dayton Boulevard, according to the fire department.
The blaze was reported around 3:30 p.m., and the fire was reportedly moving through the gym and had reached the roof.
A worker for the department said the firefighters are gaining control of the fire, but that heat and humidity were increasing the struggle.
