Hamilton County will be passing a continuation budget tomorrow instead of the 2011-2012 fiscal year budget, Mayor Jim Coppinger said today.

He said the state comptroller's office has told the county it cannot pass a budget without the schools portion attached.

The Hamilton County Department of Education hasn't passed its budget and is operating on its own continuation budget. Coppinger said he hasn't been told when the school board will pass its budget, but once that happens, the County Commission can vote.

The fiscal year begins Friday.
