7 Atlanta officers put on administrative duty after raid

ATLANTA - Atlanta police say they've placed seven officers on administrative duty pending the outcome of a review of their actions involving a raid on an Atlanta gay bar.

Police spokesman Carlos Campos said Thursday the officers have been required to turn in their guns and badges until a disciplinary review is complete. He identified them as Lt. Tony Crawford; Sgt. Willie Adams; Sgt. John Brock; and officers Jeremy Edwards, Dimitri Jacques, Vicente Marcano and Cayenne Mayes.

A report released this week by a team of attorneys says that several police officers lied and many deleted data from cell phones to hide their actions the night of the raid on the Atlanta Eagle Bar in September 2009. Patrons and employees said they had to lie on the floor while officers peppered them with slurs.
