3 dead in storm-related incidents in Tennessee

WHITE HOUSE, Tenn. - Heavy rainstorms that inundated Tennessee have contributed to the deaths of at least three people.

The city of White House's personnel office confirmed that public works employee John Bosch was washed into a drain culvert he had unstopped Monday afternoon and died. Bosch pulled debris from a drain after water began backing up onto a street, reported WSMV-TV. When the water began rushing into the pipe, it caught him and carried him into it. White House is north of Nashville.

Near the Alabama border, 79-year-old Melvin Hambrick died when he was pinned under a mobile home overturned by a storm in Franklin County.

The other death was that of a man driving a truck that collided with a tractor-trailer rig on Interstate 24 near Murfreesboro. Officials say traffic was hydroplaning on wet pavement.
