No one was home and no injuries were reported in a house fire this morning near Bonny Oaks Drive.

The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm at 8:36 a.m. and responded to 4206 Linton Avenue with four fire companies.

Battalion Chief Ben Biggs said a lot of smoke was showing when the first firefighters arrived on the scene, but firefighters got the blaze out quickly, saving most of the house and personal belongings.

Biggs said the fire appears to have started around the electric service meter, then spread up into the attic.

Resident Sonya Ecton said she, her husband and two daughters left the house shortly before 8 a.m. The family will be staying with relatives while the house is being repaired, she said.
