A 21-year-old man charged in connection with the slaying of 49-year-old Robert Moore on Monday is in custody without bond at Hamilton County Jail this morning.
Moore was sitting on the porch when witnesses told police a four-door maroon Lincoln Town Car approached a home at 2302 East 14th St. and gunmen opened fire.
Moore sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken to Erlanger hospital where he died.
Kadeem Pratt, of Chattanooga, was arrested in connection with the shooting and faces a charge of criminal homicide.
When interviewed by police, he denied shooting anyone, according to the arrest report.
Police stopped the car in the 400 block of Tunnel Boulevard and found a SKS rifle in the trunk of the vehicle with rounds that matched the casings left at the scene.
Police found 18-year-old Demarqus Dillard standing with the car. Dillard said Pratt called him on his cell phone at about 2 p.m. and told him to wait with his car because it was out of gas.
Police still have not identified a motive in the shooting.
The investigation continues with more arrests pending.
Pratt's next court date is set for March 21.
