A car chase involving a narcotics suspect today crossed state lines and involved three agencies before ending with an arrest in East Ridge, authorities said.

East Ridge police were alerted about 1:15 p.m. that officers with the Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force and the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office were involved in the pursuit of Teddy Tyrail Terry, 27, who had crossed over the Georgia-Tennessee state line, according to East Ridge Police spokesman Erik Hopkins.

The chase ended after patrol officers and undercover officers converged on the suspect's car at the intersection of Gibson Street and San Hsi Drive, according to Hopkins.

Officers took Terry into custody without further incident, he said. Inside the vehicle they found a little more than a half-pound of marijuana along with other drug paraphernalia, Hopkins said.

Terry, of Chattanooga, has been charged with possession of marijuana for resale, Hopkins said.

In addition to the East Ridge criminal charges, Terry was served with multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest, he said.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending in both Tennessee and Georgia, Hopkins said.
