The American Lung Association wants to help everyone breathe better through research and advocacy against all types of pollution, including cigarette smoke. Locally this means providing smoking cessation classes as well as asthma education and testing, particularly for children.
On May 3, ALA will hold one of its largest fundraisers, the Women of Distinction Awards Luncheon. In addition to 10 local women who've distinguished themselves within their family, career and community, this annual event will name a Tennessee Woman of Distinction.
