Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano today praised the resilience of North Georgia residents battered by the April 27 tornadoes.
Napolitano came to North Georgia with U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., and U.S. Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ranger, to visit with disaster victims and local officials.
She viewed tornado damage and visited with volunteers and victims.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has opened disaster centers in North Georgia, Southeast Tennessee and North Alabama to help disaster victims connect with relief and recovery services after the monster storms./
