COLUMBUS, Ga. - Columbus beat Ringgold 7-3 in the decisive game of the best-of-three state playoff series.
Kyle Carter homered three times to lead the defending Class AAA state champion Columbus to Thursday's win.
After Carter homered in his first two trips to the plate, the Tigers cut the lead in half when Matthew Crownover hit a solo homer in the fourth.
Columbus answered with a three-run bottom of the fourth to take a 5-1 lead after four innings, and each team added a run in the fifth.
Carter's final homer sealed the win for Columbus
