Police seeking suspect in Family Dollar robbery

Chattanooga Police are looking for a man who robbed a Family Dollar on Wilcox Boulevard Sunday evening.

When police reached the store at 3201 Wilcox Blvd. around 5:30 p.m., employees told them a man came in under the pretense of buying candy. When an employee opened the register, the man jumped the counter and demanded what was in the drawer. Then he ran out of the store, said police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

Investigators believe the same man robbed a Family Dollar on Willow Street March 2, Weary said.

Police say the robber is a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

Weary said the department has surveillance video of the incident but is gathering more information about a potential suspect.
