Suspect in Dalton Theft

Dalton police are looking for a man who stole a hammer and crowbar, then used those tools to steal $600 in cash from a Walmart early Halloween morning.

Police are asking for the public's help identifying the man caught on surveillance video, said police spokesman Bruce Frazier.

About 1:30 a.m. Monday, a man wearing all black used the stolen tools to pry open the cash register in a section of the store that wasn't staffed, Frazier said. The suspect grabbed the cash and fled on foot, he said.

The suspect is described as a black male with short hair, wearing a black hooded sweater and black pants.

Anyone with any information or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Detective Ricky Long at 706-278-9085, extension 168.
