A Clay County, N.C., camper who went missing last Sunday in Polk County was found today by a group of hunters off Highway 30 by Camp McCroy, a 4-H camp.
A group of hunters found Lonnie Matheson, 47, who told the hunters that he was cold and hungry, according to his brother-in-law, Capt. Melvin Cantrell of the Clay County Sheriff's Department.
A Polk County Sheriff's Office dispatcher said that Matheson was found at about 5:30 p.m., and ambulances were on their way to check him out before releasing him.
