Idaho State beats Lady Mocs

CANCUN, Mexico - Idaho State handed the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team a 65-62 loss today in the Cancun Challenge at the Moon Palace Resort.

The Lady Mocs (2-2) led by as many as 14 in the first half, but the Bengals (3-2) rallied to cut the margin to 32-27 at the half. Idaho State kept the momentum on its side with a 15-5 run to start the second half.

It was a 61-60 Bengals lead when UTC had the ball with less than two minutes left and Kylie Lambert was called for a charge.

Down 3 with less than 20 seconds to play, UTC had a chance to tie, but Kayla Christopher was called for traveling.

The score was still 65-62 when UTC got the ball back one last time, with 3 seconds left, but another turnover doomed the Lady Mocs.

The Lady Mocs will face Cincinnati on Friday.
