Photo released by the TBI looking to identify the body of Summer Nicole Nelms. Nelms died of multiple blunt force trauma and stab wounds.The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has identified the woman whose naked, dead body was found Tuesday behind a BP gas station in Crab Orchard, Tenn.
The woman was Summer Nicole Nelms, 35, of Knoxville, according to TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm.
This morning a special session of the Cumberland County grand jury was assembled and handed down a first-degree murder indictment on Alan Stacy Rogers, 32, of 154 Harris Street, Pines, N.C.
Rogers is in custody without bond in a North Carolina jail.
Rogers is a truck driver from North Carolina who investigators believe picked up Nelms in Knoxville, killed her, then dumped her body.
A preliminary autopsy revealed that Nelms died of multiple blunt force trauma and stab wounds.
