DeKalb County arrests roundup nets 26 on various charges

DeKalb County authorities arrested 26 people on 58 various charges during a roundup Thursday and today.

All 26 people were arrested on warrants and grand jury indictments on charges ranging from assault to drug charges of distribution and possessing controlled substances, DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a news release.

The people arrested were from all over the county, and officers are still in the process of arresting more people, Harris said late today.

During the roundup, officers also confiscated crack cocaine, meth, marijuana, a number of types of pain pills and other prescription drugs, he said.

For the last 10 months DeKalb County Drug Task Force agents have monitored and interrupted large-scale drug activity in the county, Harris said.

Multiple agencies were involved along with local and state departments.
