Alabama woman arrested in connection with moonshine operation

An Alabama woman was arrested Wednesday in connection with a illegal moonshining operation, a Jackson County, Ala., Sheriff's Office news release reports.

Joenell Craig, 46, was charged with possession of illegally manufactured alcoholic beverages, officials said, but the investigation is continuing and at least one other arrest is expected.

On Wednesday, members of the sheriff's office and the Alabama Beverage Control went to a residence off Alabama Highway 65 in Estillfork, Ala.

They found about 44 gallons of illegal moonshine and seized it as well as several items commonly used to make moonshine, officials said.

This is the second reported incident in the region this week of moonshining operations. On Tuesday, a moonshine operation was found in McMinn County, Tenn.
