Chattanooga police seek man wanted in assault, victim in critical condition

Chattanooga police are searching for a man who they believe knocked a 58-year-old man unconscious, leaving him in critical condition.

Police are trying to locate 32-year-old Marshon Langford who is wanted for aggravated assault after a fight took place at 610 Sylvan Drive on Oct. 12, according to police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

Authorities responded to the home, where they found Stanley Palms unconscious in his front yard, Weary said. Police were told Palms was punched and knocked in the head by Langford.

Palms was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition, Weary said.

Langford has a prior arrest record in Hamilton County, including drug possession, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
