An investigator in the case of the 19-year-old on trial for murder testified that the defendant changed his story in a second interview.

Former Dade County Sheriff's Detective Brittany Gilleland told the jury this morning that, when she interviewed Johnathan Ellison a second time, he told her he had watched as James Oglesby stabbed Antwane Hyatte over and over again.

Then Ellison told her that Oglesby had threatened to hurt his family if he called police.

Ellison, 19, is on trial this week for two counts of felony murder and one count each of malice murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery, while Oglesby, 27, will be tried next year on the same charges for the death of the 35-year-old Hyatte.

Gilleland said she didn't believe Ellison was telling the truth in the second interview because in an earlier interview he said he stabbed Hyatte a few times in the stomach to defend himself.

Hyatte was found dead on Ellison's doorstep on March 16.

Testimony will resume after lunch with Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent James Harris on the stand.
