Beaulieu of America is set to close its Riverbend plant Dalton, Ga. by the end of 2011, a move that may cost as many as 170 jobs, company officials said Friday.

The plant, which produces tufted and finished carpet, has been in Beaulieu's hands since 1988. The majority of jobs, as well as the plant's production, will be transferred to other plants, the company said.
