PARSONS, Tenn. - A man reportedly upset over the seating arrangement at his daughter's Cinderella-themed wedding died after he hit his head in a scuffle with the pastor, authorities said Thursday.
District Attorney Hansel McCadams said officers were called to Amazing Grace Ministries on Saturday because of a disagreement between 58-year-old Joseph Tucsnak and Pastor Chris Warren.
Authorities said Tucsnak returned to the church Monday to confront Warren. McCadams said Tucsnak went to his vehicle and came back with a hand in his pocket and lunged at the pastor.
Police said Warren then pushed Tucsnak, who fell and hit his head on the pavement. Tucsnak died from his injuries Tuesday at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
McCadams didn't know exactly why Tucsnak was upset, but said police were continuing to investigate. No charges have been filed.
It was not clear Thursday if the bride and groom were on their honeymoon.
A person who answered the phone Thursday at the church hung up on an Associated Press reporter who was seeking comment from the pastor.
WSMV-TV in Nashville, which first reported what happened, said the wedding had a Cinderella theme and the seating arrangement spurred the dispute. Tucsnak worked at a truck stop restaurant, the station reported.
An autopsy was planned.
Parsons is some 110 miles northeast of Memphis.
