NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey is inviting his Republican colleagues to join a discussion with presidential candidate Rick Perry's top political adviser.

Ramsey spokesman Adam Kleinheider confirmed that the invitations for a conference call with Dave Carney were being sent to Republican senators on Friday.

Ramsey, a Blountville auctioneer, last month issued a "strong statement of support" of Perry after what he described as a private meeting with the Texas governor in San Antonio.

The call between the Republican senators and the Perry adviser is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
