A 32-year-old woman has been arrested in the shooting death of her husband, according to Chattanooga police.

Regina Copeland is charged with criminal homicide in the death of her husband, 31-year-old Demetrius Roshell, according to police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

Copeland called police, saying she'd accidentally shot her husband in their home at 3020 13th Ave. just after 11 p.m. Wednesday, the sergeant said.

When officers arrived just after 11 p.m., they found Roshell in the home, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead on the scene, Weary said.

The couple have three children who were in the home asleep at the time of the incident. Weary said the children were taken by Child Protective Services but later turned over to a family member.

This is the 19th homicide of the year in Chattanooga.
