The driver of a car that was hit by a freight train in Bradley County has been identified.

Desmond L. Logan, 25, was injured when his 2007 Honda Accord was struck by a northbound Norfolk Southern train at the crossing on Bell Road in Cleveland, Tenn., according to Bradley County Sheriff's Office spokesman Bob Gault.

Logan, who is from Cleveland, was transported by ambulance to SkyRidge Medical Center. His current medical condition is unknown, said Gault.

Investigation determined Logan was heading east and drove onto the tracks as the locomotive approached. The crash report says the crossing is marked by a painted stop bar on the pavement prior to a yield sign.

The investigation is continuing and no charges have been filed at this time, Gault said.
