Couple faces charges for allegedly stealing steel in Georgia

After leaving his girlfriend and her baby at the scene of their crime, a man has been arrested for stealing steel from a construction storage site in Wildwood, Ga.

Charles Brown and Vanessa Hendon tried to make off with $1,500 in construction material on March 27 at 673 Cooley Road, said the Dade County sheriff's office.

When officers showed up mid-heist, Brown fled, and the sheriff's office arrested Hendon, who had her infant with her. Brown was arrested on Monday in Hamilton county.

The pair have been charged with felony theft and criminal trespass. Brown will also face a charge of obstruction of a peace officer.
