The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is looking for three suspects in a Friday afternoon robbery at a pawn shop, authorities said.

Just after 12:45 p.m., officers responded to Mountain View Pawn and Jewelry at 15115 Dayton Pike in the Sale Creek area, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson said.

According to the victim, three suspects entered the store through a rear door. One suspect was armed with a pistol and struck the victim in the face while the other two shattered two display cases and took an unknown amount of gold jewelry, Atkinson said.

The suspects fled toward the rear door at the sight of a customer pulling into the parking lot, and the clerk grabbed a weapon and fired several shots, Atkinson said. It is unknown if any of the suspects were hit, she said.

The three fled into a wooded area at the rear of the business, Atkinson said. A search dog was able to pick up a scent that led to a roadway where it is believed the suspects left by vehicle, Atkinson said.

The suspects are described as black men, all around 6 feet tall, ranging in age from early 20s to early 30s. One was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, a blue Los Angeles Dodgers hat and an "LA" tattoo on his inner right forearm.

Another was wearing a blue T-shirt, baggy blue jeans and black tennis shoes. The third had no clothing description, but his hair was pulled back into a bun or roll with a sock or net around it, Atkinson said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 423-209-8940 or the sheriff's dispatcher at 423-622-0022.
