LaFAYETTE - Walker County Superior Court Judge Jon Wood denied a motion to give convicted killer Sam Parker a new trial.

Parker was in court April 12 when his attorney argued the former LaFayette police officer didn't receive a fair trial.

Parker was convicted of killing his wife, Theresa, in 2009. His wife was a 911 dispatcher.

Attorney David Dunn argued his client should receive a new trial based on new evidence found when Theresa Parker's bones were discovered in 2010.

But after considering the evidence, Wood wrote in an order issued Friday afternoon that he denied the request, according to the Clerk of Court's office.
