Chattanooga attorney Gary Starnes
With almost 86 percent of the precincts reporting, attorney Gary Starnes is ahead in the race for the Hamilton County Sessions judge with 14,682 votes, while interim Judge David Norton follows with 8,857 votes.
Norton, a longtime judge for Soddy-Daisy, was appointed to the post by the Hamilton County Commission in March, two months after Judge Bob Moon died in January.
Yolanda Mitchell has 5,660 votes, while attorney Joe DeGaetano has 3,579 votes, and Ron Powers has 3,717 votes.
All vote totals, which include federally mandated provisional ballots, are unofficial until certified by the Tennessee Department of Elections.
