A Murfreesboro woman was in the Hamilton County Jail today on a $102,000 bond and facing aggravated assault charges after she was accused of pulling a gun on her husband's ex-wife inside a bank, records show.

Chattanooga police responded to a robbery call at Capital Mark-Bank & Trust, 801 Broad St., Thursday just before 1 p.m., according to an affidavit of complaint. But Zoya Zakwan, 42, wasn't interested in money. Inside the bank, she asked if the ex-wife, who worked at the bank, was there, then pulled a handgun.

The ex-wife was in the bank's offices and, when she saw Zakwan, she closed and locked the offices' door, keeping Zakwan inside the lobby area, according to the affidavit.

Zakwan pointed the gun at the glass but after it failed to fire, she fled, the report said. She was found walking north in the 800 block of Broad Street by a bike patrol officer.

Police also recovered the handgun on the sidewalk in the 800 block of Broad Street.

Zakwan was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Her first court appearance is set for Aug. 23 before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Ronald Durby.
