Wal-Mart, Target sock it to supermarkets

Jamie Hutchinson lives in Dickson but drives to West Nashville for her groceries.

She makes the 60-mile round trip for a wider selection of organic and natural products than what is available at stores closer to home. But if she wants to also fill her prescriptions, pick up a Starbucks latte or browse children's shoes and fashions, she can do it at the same place: the Target store in the Nashville West shopping center.

"I like the one-stop shopping, where I can buy my groceries, school supplies, clothes, everything I need," she said as she and her 4-year-old son, Cody, shopped at the store this week. "It's more convenient."
