Man, 22, stabbed at Cleveland hotel

A 22-year-old man was stabbed in the leg last night when he tried to kick a knife out of the hand of an assailant, authorities say.

The man, who has not been named, was stabbed at the Days Inn and was treated on the scene then taken to SkyRidge Medical Center, said Stan Clark of the Bradley County Emergency Management Services.

The victim and his father are construction workers at the Wacker Plant in Charleston and staying at the hotel. About 8:40 p.m., they were approached by two males, one of whom pulled a knife on the father, Clark said. The son tried to kick the knife away and got stabbed, he said.

The Cleveland Police Department is investigating, he said.
