Chattanooga closing some roads over weekend for events

The city of Chattanooga has announced some roads in the city will be closed this weekend to accommodate events.

They include:

- The part of Reggie White Boulevard between West 19th Street and the entrance to the skate park will be closed Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Draeger's Toy Drive and Auto Cruise In.

- Browns Ferry Road southbound from Lookout Valley Elementary School to Cummings Highway and the westbound curb lane of Cummings Highway to the Walmart entrance will be shut to traffic Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the Lookout Valley Christmas Parade.

- The segment of Market Street between Seventh Street and M.L. King Boulevard will be closed at 1 p.m. Saturday while Market Street from Seventh to Aquarium Way, Aquarium Way from Market Street to Chestnut Street and the southbound lanes of Broad Street from Aquarium Way to Seventh Street will be closed Saturday at 6 p.m. for the Holiday Starlight Parade. The city said side streets will be shut to traffic one block east of Market Street and one block west of Broad Street. Once the parade passes, the streets will reopen.. The parade ends at Seventh and Broad streets. Throughout it all, Chestnut Street remain open at all times while Fourth Street will serve emergency vehicles.

- That part of Riverfront Parkway from Power Alley to Chestnut Street will be closed Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. for the Grand Illumination. Streets that had been used by the Holiday Starlight parade will be open.
