Cleveland, Chattanooga get airport grant

NASHVILLE - The Haslam administration announced Wednesday that Chattanooga Airport and Cleveland's airport are getting major state grants for construction through the Tennessee Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division.

Chattanooga's facility is getting $878,000 with locals providing $46,210 to renovate the airport's commercial terminal.

For Cleveland's airport, the state is providing $958,550 with locals kicking in $50,450 for for an apron and taxilane to serve the facility. The apron is the area where planes are parked and boarded.

Awards were made to a total of 13 airports statewide, totaling just over $12 million.
