Skeletal remains ID'd as missing Alabama woman

PIEDMONT, Ala. - Skeletal remains found in a rural area of eastern Alabama have been identified as a 28-year-old woman who was reported missing three years ago.

Remains of Carla Michelle Fuqua were recovered Tuesday near Piedmont, in Calhoun County. Officials used dental records to identify the woman who was reported missing in October of 2009.

Authorities say her remains were found in a wooded area near the Chief Ladiga Trail, and authorities have ruled her death a homicide.

Piedmont is about 90 miles west of Atlanta.
