CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Bradley County Commissioner Jeff Yarber said he is "working with authorities in a cooperative manner" following his arrest on DUI charges.
Cleveland police arrested Yarber, who is the commission vice chairman, Thursday night. According to a police report, he was asleep in his car on Goldstar Drive and his blood alcohol level measured 0.12. The legal limit is 0.08.
Contacted at home Saturday, Yarber told the Times Free Press, "I believe this will have a positive outcome once all is said and done."
Democrats to meet Saturday
RINGGOLD, Ga. - The Catoosa County Democratic Party will host its December breakfast meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release.
The meeting will be at Caffeine Addicts Coffee Shop, 7819 Nashville St. in downtown Ringgold.
The agenda will include the election of officers and the fifth annual Secret Santa project. The public is invited.

TV reporter shot; reward offered
NASHVILLE - A Nashville television station is offering a $10,000 reward for information in the robbery and shooting of one of its reporters.
Nashville police said WZTV reporter Erika Lathon was wounded late Thursday after she withdrew cash from a Bank of America ATM near downtown.
Police said the robber demanded money from Lathon, who complied, but he then shot her in the arm and ran away.
Lathon was able to drive herself to a hospital where she was treated and released. Lathon has worked for the Nashville Fox affiliate since 2000.
Information about the shooting can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
War of 1812 topic of talk today
FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The Franklin Civil War Round Table is sponsoring a free presentation on the War of 1812 and the Civil War today at 2 p.m. CST.
According to a news release, the War of 1812 propelled Tennesseans including Andrew Jackson, Sam Houston, Sequoyah and David Crockett to national prominence and set the stage for state's role in the Civil War.

Berry to host Ride Science CEO
FLOYD, Ga. - The CEO of Sally Ride Science will be the guest speaker at Berry College's fall commencement.
The graduation ceremony on Saturday will feature Sheryle Bolton, who is also a college trustee.
Sally Ride Science is a science education company founded by the first U.S. woman in space.
