A man who Chattanooga police were looking to arrest in connection to a fatal gang related shooting was arrested today for violating his probation on drug possession charges.
Marcus Alexander Boston, 26, faces charges of criminal homicide in connection to a gang member's death as well as other charges including - aggravated assault, domestic aggravated assault and unlawful use of a firearm.
Quincy Bell, who was a documented Bloods gang member, was on Sept. 22 while driving a Toyota Camry in the 3800 block of Wilcox Boulevard and managed to drive east about a quarter of a mile. He pulled into a Kanagaroo gas station, 4026 Shallowford, where his car struck the curb just a couple feet from a light pole. He died at the scene.
Police believed the shooting was in retaliation of another gang shooting where 22-year-old Barry Bowman was shot in the head just days before.
According to the sheriff's office website, Boston has not been formally charged on the new charges.
His next court date is set for Jan. 8 before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Ronald Durby. He has no bond.
