A woman was killed at around 10 a.m. this morning in a single-car crash that injured two others on Dayton Pike near the intersection with Highway 153.

A southbound 2007 Toyota Camry went off the road and hit, according to Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others in the car were taken to the hospital.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing. The names of the victims will be released once the families have been notified, Atkinson said.

This was the second traffic fatality of the day. A Soddy-Daisy man died just after midnight when his vehicle left Grasshopper Road in a curve, struck an embankment and landed on its side, Atkinson said.
