Earlier this afternoon, Track 29 announced that former White Stripes lead vocalist and guitarist Jack White will be playing at the concert venue March 10.

White, who co-founded The Stripes in Detroit in 1997, has formed numerous projects over the years, including The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs, both of which have performed at major national festivals such as the Bonnaroo Music Festival and Lollapalooza.

Work toward bringing White to Track 29, which opened Sept. 1, has been ongoing for two weeks. Regardless of who he takes the stage with, bringing an artist of White's caliber to the venue is a major coup, especially for a Saturday performance, said venue founder and co-owner Adam Kinsey.

"That's going to be phenomenal, especially when he's headlining festivals like Hangout [Music Fest]," Kinsey said, "To be able to see him in an intimate setting should be great.

"I don't know who he is bringing with him. I don't know if it's a full band or just him, but it doesn't matter. It could be just him, that's fine with us."

Tickets for the March 10 show will go on sale through Ticket Biscuit on Friday at 1 p.m. via Track 29's website (www.track29.co) and Facebook profile (www.facebook.com/track29). Attendance for the concert will be capped at 1,500, Kinsey said.
