For the past several years, the agency has maintained an online presence on Twitter and also a blog site and is hoping the Facebook page will open up new lines of communication with the community.
You can "like" the Dalton PoliceDepartment's Facebook page at facebook.com/daltonpolice to see updates on investigations, community events, and other news from the department. There are also photo albums from various community events in which the DPD has taken part.
"We've been using social media like blogs and Twitter for a few years now to open up new lines of communication with the people we serve,"Dalton Police Chief Jason Parker said Tuesday. "Now by adding Facebook to our online presence we're hoping to reach even more people and further improve our communication with the citizens of Dalton."
