Guild seeking Woman of the Year nominations

The Signal Mountain Woman of the Year committee is on the lookout for women volunteering in community organizations, churches and schools to make Signal Mountain a better place.

photo Signal Mountain Community Guild Dogwood Luncheon chair Diane Gallagher, left, and Woman of the Year Committee chair Vicki Love are seeking nominees for the guild's annual honor bestowed upon a deserving woman who is active in the community. The award will be presented Wednesday, April 25 at the guild's annual Dogwood Luncheon at the Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club beginning at 11 a.m.

To nominate a woman for this honor, submit a brief letter that contains the nominee's name; your name, address and phone number; and a list of or commentary about the activities in which she is involved.

The Woman of the Year is chosen based on her community involvement, not the number of nominations she receives, according to Woman of the Year committee chairwoman Vicki Love.

Mail nomination letters to Vicki Love, 1613 Devlan Forest Lane, Signal Mountain, TN 37377, or email girlfromchatt@gmail.com.

The award, presented annually by the Signal Mountain Community Guild, is a 43-year tradition bestowed upon a mountain resident since 1969.

The award is presented at the annual Dogwood Luncheon, to be held this year on Wednesday, April 25 at the Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club. Social hour will begin at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at noon.

New to this year's luncheon is a fashion show courtesy of Chattanooga Boutique Couture.

Tickets are $18 and will be available at Wild Hare Books starting Wednesday, March 28 after 1 p.m.
