Rossville Middle School girls arrested after concealing steak knives in bra, boots

Two female Rossville Middle School students, ages 13 and 16, were arrested today after each brought a 5-inch steak knife to school, Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said in a news release.

It appears the two girls with the knives were in conflict with another group of female students, the sheriff said.

School administrators and the school resource officer found the girls with the knives after seeing information about the weapons and a possible fight on students' Facebook pages, Wilson said.

The 13-year-old had concealed the knife in her bra, and the 16-year-old had a knife in her boot, he said.

Both girls are in custody and scheduled for a detention hearing this afternoon, the sheriff said. Each has been charged with disruption of school, a misdemeanor, and carrying a weapon on school property, a felony.

Both girls are currently on juvenile probation for unrelated charges, Wilson said.
