Chattanooga Police and the Hamilton County District Attorney's office are looking for two men they say witnessed an SUV crash last year in the woods near the Chickamauga Reservoir.

The crash occurred March 26 at the intersection of 5900 Lake Resort Terrace and Queen Mary Drive police spokesman Nathan Hartwig said.

A red 1997 Honda Passport ran off the road shortly before 1 a.m., Hartwig said. The driver overcorrected as he steered out of the ditch, and the SUV veered to the left side of the road, where it went into the woods and rolled over at least once.

The driver abandoned the vehicle and ran away on foot, Hartwig said.

A nearby resident went to the location when he heard the accident and spoke with two men who said that they saw the driver leave on foot.

Those two men did not leave their names, and had left the scene before Chattanooga Police arrived, Hartwig said.

If anyone has information about the incident, they can call the district attorney's office at 423-209-7400.
