The Crown Automotive Group today announced that its new Cleveland, Tenn. dealership, which the company purchased last week from Bill Kile, is open for business under the new name of Crown Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram of Cleveland.
The 90-year-old dealership was operated by Kile for 30 years.
Jim Myers, president of the Crown Automotive Group, said the acquisition made sense in the context of Bradley County's explosive growth of late.
"More and more national and international businesses find Cleveland a desirable home and the population continues to grow at a rapid pace," Myers said in a statement released today. "We're honored to become a contributor to Cleveland's growth and excited about this important new part of the Crown Automotive family."
The new owners plan to remodel the dealership within three months, said Tim Roussell, general manager for the group's Chattanooga store and new Cleveland general manager.
However, all current employees will remain, including Kile family members, owners said, and new hires will increase the total worker count to 40.
Tim Roussell, general manager of Crown Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram of Chattanooga, will also serve as the general manager of Crown Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram of Cleveland.
Combining Crown's Chattanooga and now Cleveland dealerships, area residents will now have access to an average of 400 new and 250 pre-owned vehicles, he said. In addition, both dealerships will also offer a full line of commercial vehicles.
