High winds down lines in Chattanooga

A small but powerful storm is bringing high winds to Chattanooga.

As of about 10:30 p.m., the storm was approaching from DeKalb County, Ala. Chattanooga police had reported some downed power lines and officers were told to look for more downed lines and trees.

The National Weather Service reported the storm was moving at about 20 mph with possible strong winds and hail. Rainfall could be scattered but locally heavy, the service said.

Motorists are advised to watch for falling trees and power lines.
